On a 4 Cylinder motor, there is no need for a twin turbo set-up. One turbo is more than capable of supplying the needed air charge.

it's not worth it. the turbo lag would be horrendous because lack of exhaust pressure

Not necessarily true. Two LNF turbos would still spool decently... but the gain wouldn't be worth the time and money put into it. Better gains would/could be achieved by a proper single turbo set-up.

You can twin turbo any thing, cost aside its just about getting the turbine right and the flow across the pump (compressor) right. All a turbo charger is, is a small turbine driven centrifugal pump. With a small 4 cyl engine you wont be able to use large turbos due to the lack of exhaust pressure, but two smaller ones and the right geometry on the turbine will work. You can even have each cylinder have its own turbo. A few years ago I read an article in a horse power mag (which one I don't remember) about a quad turbo V8 Camero. However with the technology in today's turbo the only benefit from twin turbocharging a inline 4 would be just to say you did it. The weight of all the plumbing for the two turbos I think would negatively effect the out come, with a single turbo would be lighter and less complex. I personally would go twin turbo just for fun, because I like doing stuff like that, that and make the car RWD.

how it is less realistic? a company actually makes a twincharged setup for the cobalt, and parts exist to make it happen, no company makes a twin turbo kit and no one has ever installed it on a cobalt

I never said twincharging was less realistic, just that it wasn't MORE realistic... so don't put words in my mouth.

Just because no one makes a kit to Twin Turbo a Cobalt, and/or no one has done it... doesn't mean its less Realistic. Maybe you should look up the words you are using in a Dictionary. Both can be done on just about any car. Just because someone makes a kit to do one of them doesn't mean the other one is any less realistic. As I said in the other post... practicality comes into play here... not realism.

Open your mind before you open your mouth.
