I have recently purchased a Cobalt SS 2006 with the 2.0 ecotech SC. I need to change my thermostat but am having a hard time locating it. Does anyone know where its located??

The thermostat housing is located on the back of the block, driver's side, near the brake booster.

Definitely can be a pain to do, but once you move everything out of the way it was pretty easy. I put some black RTV for the gasket and it worked great for me, just an idea to give you.
