I am having an issue with a rattle in the front end of the car and I think it has something to do with the power steering motor. After having it replaced on the recall I picked up a rattle that have got worse to the point that at around 10 to 15 mph it sounds like the steering column is coming apart. My question is can a guy just unbolt the motor and check for play or is it more complicated than that?

Just take it to the dealership you got your steering motor installed. They should be happy to help if not pull the BBB (Better business Bureau) card. Cuz if it is infact their work that did that they can lose a lot of money cuz of it.

White Balt, bitch.

Not sure how speed would affect the power steering motor. Is there a way you can video record it and post it.

ya sometimes people use fix a flat and that can mess with your balance . i used it one a tire in a jam ( slime ) a year later it was fine . took my tire off to work on my car . bounced the tire i think . put it on and felt like the front end was gonna fall off . the a chunk of slime broke off and was floating around

Ok I didn't mention that it is over bumps at that speed and the tires are not the problem I just got them replaced and a four wheel alignment done. The power steering in our cars is speed sensitive if I was told correctly that’s what makes me think it’s the problem.

We don't have a motor assist power steering...... The motor is right above your feet. So not sure how that effects it..
