I went to Ft Worth Monday and got this steering wheel from Greg
i did a Trifecta Performance tune on a 02 Denali, what a nice difference that made on that SUV.
then went to the meet at Fudruckers and got to meet some fun folks.
For some stupid reason i thought the steering wheel was Black so i painted it black and the top blue w Duplicolor black and med blue (color on my middle of my seats ) Vinyl/fabric paint.
i painted the control housings w the blue i used on the doors from Krylon Fusion Navy (their choice of words to describe, looks more Royal)
did the black and blue housings last night and did the med blue while i was teaching today
BTW painted leather feels no different than not painted. it is flexible paint
here is the wheel before i started on his HHR
1. clean with Acetone all of the wheel
2. tape off the first color (i painted the plastic flat black first )
3. then tape untaped and painted the black part on the sides
4. dries in around 15 to 20 min ( i left it dry overnight)
taped up the black and painted the top and bottom med blue
easiest painting i have ever done and always wiped one more time w acetone before i painted.
here it is all done. the center will come from Shagy which is the air bag and it is already flat black
installed
the flash changes the color of the blues, the color on the cement is accurate
