Hi everyone. I have a 2005 2 door cobalt ls. My motor blew and i was thinking of doing a swap. I found a 09 cobalt ss turbo. If i buy it with the ecu and hardness would i be able to do the swap or would i need more stuff?

It's ambitious, fun and you will learn a lot. You will also be recycling a good motor, I presume, out of a wrecked car. That is the good.

The bad is that you will be frustrated with parts that don't match as well as you might think and you will end up with a car that is not as good as if you just went out and got an 08-10 SS.

There were serious upgrades to this model that include, not just engine, but suspension, brakes and interior. Yes they share a chassis but, otherwise, they are almost like two different vehicles that look similar.

Plus, if you can find an 08-10 right now for peanuts.
