Sorry to mess things up.
I used to work in Broadcasting. There were Low Level, Line Level, also the impeadence, or how much Power is available to drive a speaker. 4, 8, or 16 Ohms. Things can be miss wired, and still work, however not as well as they should.
There was a time when we worried about sound Quality, now Loudness is what matters. When a amplifier is turned "up" it tends to distort. You can do this on purpose, and things will sound louder.
Bluntly. Forget all I have said.
Try to get a good book, and work it out.
Working Face to Face with some one is better than email.
