Is this model supposed to be turbo'd?

Hi, I have a 2008, chevy cobalt sport coupe, 2.4L. VIN: 1G1AM18B987194771 (if extra info is needed). On the cobalt wiki says that the 2008 2.4L models feature a turbo charged engine. Now, I know for certain there's no turbo or supercharger in there.
Theres definitely room for a turbo, So I guess I'm wondering if my car was supposed to come turbocharged, but one of the previous owners must've removed it for some reason, Or if that's the way it should be.
If so.. that might explain why its 0-60 is 12 seconds, Far from the advertised speed xD. The 45-60 alone is about 7 seconds.

Contact a Chevy dealer or GM website with your VIN handy and ask them to look up the factory options on your car.
There are some websites that can tell you what the option codes mean on the sticker under the carpet in your trunk.

Hi there! I can answer this question with a definitive "No, your vehicle did not come equipped with a turbo."

There may be room for one in there but the only Cobalts that came with a factory turbocharger were the 2008-2010 Cobalt SS. I know because I have one and it's one of the fastest FF cars ever built, even after 150k + miles of hard driving!

The turbo models were also 2.0 liter displacement so there's no way your car ever had one...from the factory. There previous owner could have had an aftermarket turbo but that's another story.

I agree with daveyboy.
All turbo vehicles came with 2.0 liter engines, yours came with a 2.4 litre.
