You know, GM has cancelled the cobalt SS a year ago and replaced it with what? The Cruz. What a piece of crap. They took a car (Cobalt SS) that offered great options you couldn't get in any other car GM makes (Awesome Factory Stereo, XM, 5-speed manual, Supercharged then Turbo, unique spoiler, buckets with leather, compact, unique colors, with great gas mileage and power and most important "Affordable") and cancelled it. Then you think they are going to come out with another car that may have some promise like the Code 130r or the Tru 140S, but they put a 150 HP 1.4 liter motor in it. It seems like GM is going backwards when trying to appeal to its customer base. Maybe I am being critical but GM has the mentality that "If we build it, they will buy it" and meanwhile the foreign car companies are passing them by.
I have been a die hard GM owner my whole life but they keep letting us down. Please weigh in, I'm just venting. :juggle:

ok so you joined 2 years ago and this is your first post? i think you should go back 20 years and think about how foreign companies have been beating domestic in reliability/power/gas mileage/style since then. in 2 years, when you make your second post, don't talk about something everyone already knows, thanks.

I think the cruze is a very nice car, much better interior then the cobalt. Only gripe is the lack of power in one but it doesn't matter, I am not planning on getting one anyway.

Please don't slam me for my low posts #'s or for joining recently..............

I've driven GM vehicles for 34 years and just recently jumped into the "4 banger" fuel efficient niche of it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm sure some will, but didn't GM go into bankruptcy and literally have to bow down to a government committee that restructured what brands and products they sell????

Not to mention with gas prices and the economy, the nature of the business is now fun, fuel efficient cars that people will actually buy into, like and it'll work for their lifestyle. It's a wide range.

Yep, the Cobalt SS is an awesome little car. So was the WHOLE Pontiac Division.

After GM gets further away from that evil administration that castrated it.........you'll see more cool products.

Or as I used to say about the Buick GN, Chev. LT-1 Caprice, Camaro RS/SS, Pontiac G8, Solstice, Sky and so many more..............."Despite itself, Every now and then GM manages to slip one under their own radar and build a collectable car worth holding onto.".

Thank the crash of 08 and all the great government regulations that brought GM & Chrysler to their knees for the demise of the Cobalt.

I agree the Cruze is better the the Cobalt. My parents have one and the power isn't that bad. I do like the interior a lot better then the Cobalt was.
What i don't like is that it feels like a real small car and i can't see out as well as i do in mine.
