Well guys, I'm BACK!!!! About to jump into an engine replacement on a 2005 cavy. Most of you that know me, know I fairly know what I am doing so let's make this short and sweet. I am doing an engine replacement for my Girlfriend. No she didn't blow it up.. someone ran it without oil and is giving it to her for free so yeah.. Looking for some tips/shortcuts and what not to get this done easier instead of barreling through it with no advanced warnings. So if anyone has first hand knowledge of removing and replacing a 2.2l ecotec on a cavy feel free to shoot me a PM or post here also any links to other builds and helpful information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance guys!!

well i just removed and rebuilt my engine... same one. if ran without oil in it, you're looking at a huge rebuild... i ran mine on low oil (not realizing because checked it a week prior and halfway between oil changes). piston rings may be screwed, you're looking at tearing apart the engine... if no oil, the sleeves could be screwed also. make sure bearings are good. is the engine seized?

He is thinking of a replace not a rebuild.
He is gonna get a completely new motor.

It should be pretty straight forward. Idk what the engine bay is like, but it'd make things easier if you remove all tranny mounts and move tranny to the side a bit. Also take off crank pulley and front cover. Should be easy if you do that
