    08 LT will not start

    I'd try wiggling the wires at the BCM. I have 2010 that wouldn't start when below freezing, dealer was able to wiggle the wires to get it to start, had to replace it. If yours got wet I would have though it should have been replaced.

    Ignition recall just replaces the switch with that might have a heavier spring so it doesn't turn off due to too much weight on the key ring. $500 is about how much a new body control module (BCM) cost me at the dealer.

    My daughters does the same thing with front speaker, and front Power windows don't either, replace the switch once and they worked for a while but quit again. Tested switch in my impala as they are almost the same and it's fine. Broken wires somewhere I suspect.

    Guy at work had his stuck on with an Honda Accord, little plastic button down on the brake pedal broke, we black taped 2 pennys in place to get it to depress the switch far enough to work normal. No idea if Cobalts have a similar thing but that's where I'd look first.
