Rotating Tires

I seem to have lost my owners manaul. What pattern do we rotate our tires in?

if there directional its front to back,keep them on the same side,

Wait - what the hell does directional mean?

if the tires have "rotation direction" or something similar writen on them and an arrow then they are directional, meaning they only work on one side of the car. but if they arent directional you move the fronts straight to the back and you cross the rears to other side of car on the way to front.....so:
LF to LR
RF to RR
LR to RF
RR ro LF

I just swap them on a side basis. I swap the left side tires... then i swap the right side tires. Front rights become the rear rights, Front Lefts become the rear lefts, and vice versa.
