My 08 Chevy Cobalt went off onto the side of the road to avoid an animal, ended up in a rough spot that must've broken off a small piece of the radiator and caused a coolant leak. Unknowing of the leak, drove the car. Car came up with warning of "Cooling mode on", then stalled minutes later. Car was towed home, radiator replaced and unfortunately wrong coolant was put in. Car was running for only minutes right before realizing the different coolant, as it ran rough was the main sign. Coolant was flushed out, and correct one added. Car was run for minutes afterwards, and smoke came out the exhaust, then the smoke stopped. Car was shut off afterwards as it was then running fine. When attempting to restart an hour later, it won't start at all! What could be wrong in that small time as it was running with the wrong coolant, running with the right coolant, now won't run at all? It'll crank, and but just won't turn over.

that is bad sign, car running with no coolant overheats, overheated and engine stalls is a very bad sign. Hope there's no damage to the bearings or valves. the "wrong" coolant is not an issue unless it was completely pure coolant with no water, dex-cool is recommended for warranty purposes.

Are there any Check engine lights on? what color was the smoke? tried disconnecting the battery cables and turn the key, let it sit for 10-15 mins and reconnect attempt to start? a compression test will check if the piston rings are shot.
