I have a 07 cobalt LT auto and have approx 36,400 miles on it. Should I get the transmission service done on it? Ive heard different mileages about when it should be changed/flushed. What mileage does gm recommend to have it done at?

GM does not recommend a fluid change under normal service conditions.

That being said, I agree with the other guy replying about a fluid and filter change and 50k miles.

if you don't service your transmission at regular intervals it will fail prematurely and will need a rebuild/replacement. ever notice on an older car how you see brown trans fluid and the thing starts shifting all weird? that's clutch dust in the fluid. the tranny is now relying on the abnormally thick viscocity of the fluid. that's how you know not to change the fluid and wait it out til you can afford a rebuild. this is just from my experience. of course, gm wants you to bring you their blown tranny way over warranty so you can pay full price to have it fixed. sometimes common sense can outsmart manufacturers specs.

So basically it is best then to get it done at 50,000 miles? The dealerships over here said they recommend getting it done at 30k miles. Would you say that is kinda early to have it done?

GM says the auto does not need servicing ever under "normal" conditions. (I am almost always a little skeptical of "sealed for life" auto items.)
Since M.Y. 2006+, most GM autos have Dexron VI type ATF installed. This fluid is night and day over previous Dexron III specs. Think of Dexron VI as sort of the top of the line synthetic fluid for the auto trans.
I drive a lot of highway miles on my 2008 G5. Little stop and go in heat and cold year 'round.
I just changed mine at 68,000 miles and seems was a waste of money. Fluid looked/felt like brand new. Filter and pan was spotless. So the cost of a new pan gasket/Delco filter/7gts of Dexron VI and the time was a waste of good money and just filters and fluid alone is NOT cheap!!!!
Unless you are super abusive in hot surroundings or use your car like a police car, taxi or pull a trailer constantly.. you could easily save your money 'till at least 85,000 or more!

i have 39k on my car with b&m shiftplus on my car since 20k miles. Dealer recommended me to get it at 40 but two friends told me not to. Not really sure what to do. I will be adding boost to as im building a kit now.
