Hey everyone,

I drive an 09 Cobalt Sedan with manual transmission.

This summer I realized that the blinkers do not turn off automatically anymore. Though it would be convenient to have it, I've brushed it off.

Then I noticed that my blinkers have also stopped making the ticking sounds - however sometimes the ticking does work. The speaker is not the problem.

Yesterday I noticed that my blinkers were switching fast, so I checked my blinkers and saw that the rear driver side blinker isn't working. I hit the blinker with my hand, and the blinker started working again.

This happened a couple more times, and then tonight when it happened and I hit it, the entire rear driver side tail light assembly went out. Later on I hit it again, and it turned back on. The blinker still wasn't working so I hit it again and the assembly went out again.

Please note that I've replaced this tail light bulb twice this year

Unfortunately, it won't turn back on by me hitting it with my hand this time...*facepalm*

I don't want to pay the Chevy dealership the money to fix it because it's going to be damn expensive.

Please help me!!

Just replaced speakers to fix the intermitted lack of noise in my daughters 2010 LT. It had been having similar turn signal issues, replaced a couple bulbs for $1 in the head light assemblies and seems to have fixed hers.

I don't check in on weekends, was in garage replacing window regulator and speakers. Head light/turn signal issue was just a couple weeks ago.

Calm down Kyle, we don't live on the forums and have life outside of here.

If you're having to hit the housing to get the light to work again that means the bulb filament has disconnected inside. Usually this happens with cheaper bulbs or if there is water inside the tail light housing. Having any condensation in there?

For the turn signal auto cancel, it is likely that the gear that cancels the turn signal has been stripped. You will have to replace that assembly to fix, I did the same thing on my car by holding it when it was trying to cancel and it slowly killed that nylon gear piece.

Do you have any other chimes? Key in door open when off or seatbelt chimes? Stock radio?
