Hello everyone I'm new to the forum and pretty new to the world of modding. I have had my Cobalt since December 2007 and would like to start making some mods here and there.

I have a 2007 LS 2.2

Cant do anything about it being a base model but I can fix it up.

Anyway, I'm looking for an intake for my car but I live in California and understand things need to be CARB exempt.

Also I believe my car has the Air injection addition since it being a 2007.

With those two set aside, what are my options for an intake?

Was looking at injen or K&N.

Also on a side note I will take any advice for any parts, I'm very new and welcome to any suggestions (exhaust, suspension, pedals, etc.)

Thanks in advance!

welcome to the site man! feel free to add us to your myspace/facebook (links in my sig)

and to see if you have SAI look at your stock airbox and if there is a little hose running off of it then you have it! if i remember correctly, K&N is the only intake taht suports it.

and for other parts( seeing how your a 2.2) definitly buy some springs for it! and the GMPP performance exhaust is a nice upgrade too!

Post pics of your cobalt man!

Thanks for the welcome.

I do plan on the exhaust, most likely GMP though what is the difference between the touring and the performance?

So K&N it is then since it seems like I have little choice.

I checked and there is a hose leading out of of the top right of the box.

Though I found this page saying that the K&N is not CARB exempt?

So I would like to get the K&N though apparently its CARB exempt for 2006 models and not 2007?

Anyone know why or how to get around this?

no cop is gonna be able to tell the only thing is about time for inspection you could once a year switch it out for the stock one then switch back after the inspection, or move to texas

You are most likely right. I keep looking and it seems like injen would have one but again only k&n have the SAI hookup that I need.

So I will most likely have to get the K&N and switch it out every smog.

Thanks for the help everyone!

Anyone know where to get it for the best price?
