for performance for the 2.2 start with the usual....intake/header/downpipe/exhaust...

then there is the suspension, brakes, nitrous, forced induction....its all in how far you want to take it...

I personally would stay away from forced induction, nitrous, and superchargers/turbochargers. The engine wasn't designed to handle that type of power. I'd say get an SS if you want those since it's more of a racing engine. Plus they cost quite a lot to buy and to have it tuned and such. Not to mention if this is you everyday car, the last thing you want to happen is to blow it up.

Stick to exhausts, intakes, headers, suspension, brakes, and tires. You'll be able to get a whole lot of additional power sufficient enough for you to have fun with.

Welcome.

Modding depends on what you really want out of the car. Most people start with with a cold air intake, cat back exhaust, rims, and lowering. After you get that far if you decide you want more power you can start looking at a header, a downpipe (catless or highflow), the 2.4 intake manifold and throttle body, and a tune. If you decide you want to supercharge the car I would say stay away form the 2.4 intake mani and trottle body, since you need the 2.0 SC intake mani and throttle body. You can put together a SC kit from used parts relitivly cheap. There are also a few turbo kits available, most of them get pretty costly.

I would suggest you search the forums, this one and others and read up on everything that you can before you do it so you can make informed decisions on your upgrades.

the 2.2 engine is very capable of handling 250 with stock inturnals...
