I didn't see a newbie section on here like the previous forums I have been on so I figured I'd drop.this here quick. My girlfriend has found an 07 cobalt lt that she is in love with...its at 123k miles. I don't.have any experience with gm, I'm an import guy myself. so what's the cutoff for mileage on these cars? Is 123k too much? They want 5k for it. any other problems I should know about these? recalls? recurring problems? Thanks guys, I gotta get back to work. later

There was a recall for the power steering motor. Unsure what the mileage cutoff is for the motors, but they're basically the same motor as the cavaliers. I sold my LT at 90k.

5k is overpaying for that LT. Lower it to 3500-4k

in my opinion the engine of this car can easily make it to 200k if maintained properly.ive repaired at least 4 cavaliers with the same engine that had failed timing chain/tensioner that people ignored for a while till the car dies on the road.timing chain is the weakest part on the engine if noise is presented when running it must be fixed right away .tranny is strong as long as it has the services done on time -dealer service department said every 50k i do every 30k on mine . overall cobalts are good cars for not allot of money and i prefer having 5 years old american car vs 10 years old import.
Before u make an offer on the car make a full inspection ,if u dont know cars good bring mechanic over to inspect the car .ask for all service records available as see what has been done to the car .once u know whats is done and what is in need for repair u can make a educated offer based on facts .
