2006 LT with automatic. I have a grumbling/roar/whine noise coming from front end most prevalent from 30-60 MPH. Pitch goes up and down with speed and I can put the car in neutral at speed and the noise does not change. Noise also will not change if I swerve left or right. Any ideas on diagnosing this??

Maybe it'd a wheel hub. Jack up the front end and check for movement on the wheel. The axle.is right there and u can see it directly thru wheel

Transmission, probably.
Wheel bearing, possibly.
CV joint, no.

To check, put the front end up on jack stands. Turn off traction control (or unplug a wheel speed sensor), have an assistant run it up through the gears to around 60mph while you're under it. Look for the noise source.

Check your transmission fluid level. The dealership said my 5th gear (manual) looked like it had been starved of lubrication.
