How Can I Purge Air out of Radiator ?

SO got a call from Mechanic, and it will about $500 to fix it.
He suggested to install a new engine rather for about $700

what do you guys think? If i fix it, how long would it last still ?
Is it worth investing in a new engine ?

What gasket blew? The head gasket?

yeah, head gasket.

Should be fine with a new gasket and you said the water pump needed replaced.

So this is sort of turning into a nighmare.
Dropped $600 on having the mechanic rebuilding the engine. he changed the gasket and seals and leveled them.

Took the car for a spin and after 45 min of driving it went to 250 F and cooling mode kicked in.

He said to bring it back as he assumes its the Catalytic converter causing that ??????
Does that any sense? he said its 80 % cat, 10% water pump 10% radiotor

what do you guys think ?

Shouldn't be the cat. My guess is water pump from what you're saying.

I would definitely sounds like the water pump has gone. Was there and CELs? If it was the catalytic converter you would have noticed a change in the exhaust note as well as possibly a check engine light.
