Chevy Cobalt LT VS. Mazda 3

Hello all,

I am new here. I am in the market for a used car. The mazda 3 was at the top of my list, however they seem to be priced about $2000 out of my range. SO i have moved my attention to the Chevy cobalt LT. my question is for those with knowledge of both cars. what will i be losing switching form mazda 3 to cobalt and what will i be gaining?

I should rephrase that, i can buy either car straight cash homie. but wanted to know if there was a noticeable difference in how they drive. i test drove a 2009 cobalt and 2009 ford focus. both come in behind the mazda 3, but both are a few thousand dollars cheaper. damn my financially conservative ways!
