2008 2.2 swap

Girlfriends engine bit the bucket. I found a 2008 2.4 g5 (whatever that means) will it fit the bay of a 2008 2.2?

Physically it'll fit, wiring on the other hand isn't a direct fit.

Do you know if the 2.4 has a different transmission, or if they are the same?

Just out of curiosity, how many miles are on the engine and what is wrong with it (or happened) that the engine is totalled?

About 160k really bad rod knock that we don't want to go through trouble of taking apart to see if its just bearing, piston, or crank.
