I'm the owner of a 2008 SS I'm going to the same thing with the same codes I just had a friend look at my car who fixes turbos on Cessnas and also is done turbo rebuilds on GNX and other reputable cars in fact he just diagnosed it tonight. Do not trash your car you can buy a wastegate actuator... -

Brought my 08 SS in for po236 code the mechanic was a friend but wasn't equipped to fix turbos he had it for over a week and finally said that the actuator rod head snapped off snapped off. Do I have to get a whole new Turbo or can the actuator rod be put on is this an expensive fix. Please help...
