what did you buy from them as far as engine bay cleaning?

most people just go buy wd-40 or some random black cleaner like back to black or things you can buy for little to nothing at target or walmart and just spray it and start wiping it over everything. scrub off stuff first then start spraying some wet stuff that stays wet over everything. just my 2cents. over doing it and trying to buy all expensive stuff or what people say is the best is usually the biggest waste of money. it's like keeping the car clean. if you don't go on the highway don't tail gate people or do stupid stuff your going to prevent rock chips. also if you clean the car weekly it's going to stay clean. i just use a brush that's not even that soft and not that clean on my car and also wax it every now and then with some cheap wax and it stays nice and clean. my car is 3+ years old and still looks brand new. everyone always asks me how i keep it so clean or what did you use. it's common sense for me what to do and how to keep it clean.

I just used brake parts cleaner on my bay.

I would think that would be bad for the belts and hoses, maybe a little bit for the plastics and wires. Cause it'll dry the hell out of just about anything.
