There's a ticking noise that sounds like it's coming from the passenger side of the engine. It goes faster when I accelerate. Also sometimes when I slow down at a stop light or stop sign it stalls. It has no problem starting back up though. I've been told by a friend he thinks it's 2 of the lifters possibly. But I don't know. Any suggestions or Input or ideas? Please and thanks

Could be a lifter like your friend suggested or your timing chain is loose. How many miles on it?

Yeah I'd say it's time to pull the valve cover and see if anything is floating around up there. Physically touch each lifter and rocker to make sure none are loose or broken.

Check the timing chain guide, the black one on the front side of the engine is the one that will see the most wear. Make sure it hasn't snapped off and the bolt that holds it is still there. You can check this by pulling the large hex key plug. It's a pain to remove, you're going to want something big to get it out. Seals back in with blue thread lock. You might also be able to look down the gap in the timing chain area with the valve cover off, but it's best to check at the inspection hole.

Which timing chain tensioner is installed in the engine? You can tell by the shape of the head on the back of the engine head.
