I have really been putting off buying a spec clutch because I have no idea how to do it. I basically need a walk through of everything after opening the hood.
clutch install is a long process, especially if your doing it in your garage, its a looong how too; i have the service manual for the cobalt...long processim having a shop do mine
yeah, i understand it's a long process but i'm willing to do it myself. i have this thing about wanting to be able to say I have done everything myself on my car. plus I have a lot of great friends that like to lend me a hand. I have a second car so I can afford some down time on my ss.
it's really not much of a challenge, just a long project make it a weekend thing. I got mine done in 4 or 5 hours in the driveway but nothing went wrong. always leave that sunday open just in case lol
btw valuable tipthey forgot to include: when re-installing an axle to a half shaft (intermediate shaft) or transmission depending on which axle, slide it like a slide hammer banging the cv joint together to pop the splines in past the retaining ring.
mine took me 8hours but i also had a kidney stone and was walking slow lol. but prety much u take driver motor mount off humm cradle axel's loosen right side motor mount lower engine and take trans off. i know ill never do it again
thats a good idea. when it was all done i felt good that I had accually done it myself but was tired and hurting. also found where they replaced my trans they fucked alot of shit up and left bolts out
