I noticed a buzzing sound coming from the front driver's side of my car when I got out of my car while it was in park, still running, last week. Coming from the transmission. No noticeable problems while driving or anything, and no noticeable leak (that I could see, but, I fully admit I could be an idiot in this regard) Took it to some local transmission guys, b/c if it was a quick fix (ha!) i wasn't going to deal with the dealership. They checked my fluid, confirmed it was low, they didn't see anything external, so the problem was probably internal, and take it to the dealership, and topped off the fluid (for free! Love them!)
Took it to the dealership. They told me the buzzing was because of low fluid they had it for the day, called and said it was an axle seal, overnighted the part, fixed it, and sent me on my merry way this evening (it's under warranty). When I got home, I got out of the car, with it on and in park, and the damn buzzing is still there. I'm supposed to bring it back tomorrow evening.
It's, like, 99% certain this buzzing is coming from my transmission, right???? (I don't know a lot about cars). With the hood open, it's coming from the transmission area, and when I lay on the ground, the noise is coming from that area. I just don't want to get taken advantage of (when I called, the one person said to bring it in to look at, and then I called back b/c I'm going to need a ride back and all, and the lady who answered said "Well, if it's buzzing in idle, that's not the transmission" but, that's not true, right?
