I bought a 2006 Cobalt LT for my daughter back in '07. It had 31000 miles on it and seemd to be a very nice car. Turns out it has been the biggest headach I have owned. It's been in the shop more times than I can count, getting all kinds of parts replaced. The first trip that we took in it I noticed that the cruise controll wouldn't work. I put my foot under the brake pedal and pulled up on it and the cruise started working. I took it to the Chevy dealer and told them about it and they replaced the brake light switch. The next time I had it out it did the same thing. They put another brake light switch in it. Still doesn't work. The brake light stays on any time you are driving faster than 50 MPH, but you can not make it do this under 50 MPH. I took it back and they replaced the switch again and said that they guaranteed it would work right this time. Still doesn't work. I took it back and they said that I was out of warranty and would have to pay for any more repairs. I still can't figure out why it will only do this above 50 MPH. Does anybody have any idea what is wrong with it?
I went out and bought 3 Fords in the last year because of all of the problems that this car has caused and GM wouldn't fix them. The front end shakes real bad after you drive it above 55 MPH for about 20 minutes, but you can stop and take off again and it stops shaking. GM wouldn't do anything about this either.
