This is an odd one. My AC/Heater fan doesn't work... sometimes. The AC compressor makes cold air, and the heater makes hot air, but about 1/2 the time the fan won't turn on.

Additionally... sometimes the stereo/clock display works just fine, and sometimes the display looks like "static," with letters and digits broken up and pixellated. But, I don't care so much about that. I only mention it as an additional symptom.

When this problem started a couple of weeks ago, a solid thump on the top of the dash, or a firmly slammed door had a fair chance of causing the fan to kick on. That doesn't work anymore. I don't believe there's anything preventing the fan itself from spinning. There appears to be an electrical connection issue where it just plain won't turn on (sometimes). Occasionally, when this happens, I'll get 1/2 way home and it'll suddenly turn on.

I popped off the console fuse box panel and everything that I can see appears to be snug in place. I'm not a skilled mechanic or electrician. The dealership wants a $75 diagnostic fee just to look at it. Hoping to find some help here, first.

It's Florida, and 85 degrees in February this year... I likes me air to work! I speak in terms of colors, shapes, and thingies. Terms like relay, connector, and BCM make my eyes roll back in my head.

Thanks!

Your diagnosis is likely correct, to me it sounds like the connector at the fan is loose under the dash somewhere. Have a look under there and see what you can find.

Stereo is something else I think, that or your BCM is fried, but I would expect more issues if that were the case.
