I'll start by giving the details. 2008 Cobalt LT sedan. 167,000 miles. Bought used in June of '09 with around 30k miles. For a few years all was well, but now I'm having electrical issues. It's been a seemingly non-essential short list of issues for a few years.

No ding noise when the door is open and keys are in, no noise coming from driver side speaker, no turn signal tones, no "seatbelt warning" tones. Just recently I had the tires rotated and the TPMS sensor is on my display along with "svc tire monitor". Took it back and they used the handheld box to check the TPMS signals/pressure by pressing it against the tire wall near the sensor. All sensors came back just fine but he was unable to complete the "learn" process so I'm stuck with my TPMS light on all the time which I'm sure you know means I only know my tire pressure by checking manually. He said it was an internal problem they wouldn't be able to do at that shop.

Thanks to any and all who read and offer suggestions. If I missed anything, you need more details or ideas to try/check things let me know. I'm happy to help you help me as much as possible.

One more thing-the ignition recall has been addressed and fixed pretty much as soon as it came out.

Does your stereo work? Stock stereo?

TPMS any tire shop should be able to service.

Yes, the stereo works. Stock stereo. It's only the driver side door speaker that doesn't work.

No music out of that speaker means either it or the wiring is bad. Check the speaker first to see of that's the cause, after that check the continuity of the door speaker wiring.

My 2010 drivers speaker doesn't work either, no chimes, dings etc... I think the speaker just needs replaced.

Don't recall the sequience to relearn tpms off hand and its different between my LS and LT as the LT uses the remote if I recall. LS doesn't have a remote so works through brake or gas pedals.

Found the procedure, I'd try that first, maybe one sensors battery died, it one of them won't beep the horn you'll know which one's bad. If none do then it's something else.

2008-2010 Cobalt

On the way home today I got a tpms error again, been happening off and on most of winter, had 1 psi in RR. Guessing the sensor is dieing.

Hey roosterK0031,

I’m really sorry to hear that you are experiencing this TPMS error, and that the driver’s side speaker in your 2010 Cobalt doesn't seem to work anymore. You definitely seem like someone who likes to fix things themselves, however, feel free to send us a private message should you have any questions, and keep us all up to date on the repairs!

Kind regards,

Shane M.
