To Swap or Not to Swap

No. You'd spend more money & time swapping to an LSJ/LNF than you would spend by simply building up what you have.

    10+ MPG Loss

Research Top Tier Gasoline. Also, try and go to gas stations that get more use. AKA, try not to stop at gas stations that are in the middle of no where and only have like 5 customers per day. The more traffic a gas station gets... the better. The longer gas sits in the tank, the more it...

I'm having trouble with my fuel system

I don't know much about a situation like this... but I'm wondering if the Cobalt has a built in system where if there is a bad front end wreck and the air bags deploy, it will also kill the fuel pump so that if a fuel line is ruptured, it doesn't continue to spray all over the engine bay. Don't...

    FS: S/C Kit

I dunno. I don't think he is really planning on breaking up the kit. A lot easier to sell everything as a whole. If we happen to find buyers interested in all the other stuff, then I'll let you know.

    FS: S/C Kit

Yeah... all the small things will be included. Which reminds me of a few things that I forgot. Everything is in top notch shape, so I gave it a little bit of a higher price. Still better than paying $2100 for the kit from ZZP.

    Twin Turbo?

Its impressive what can happen when you put a properly sized turbo on your car. Don't floor it and you'll be fine. Or your rear tires were bald. Haha. A lot of people don't seem to understand that you can get away with bald rears in the Spring/Summer/Fall... but in the winter, you...

    BlackCobalt707's 06 LS/TC build thread

Stand Alone isn't needed. you can reflash the factory ECU using HPTuners. A lot less expensive. The car comes with a Water-to-Air intercooler... there are parts that can be upgraded, like the Heat Exchanger and the End Plate. Stock... most SS/SC's put down between 210-220whp and 200-210wtq...

    Twin Turbo?

Nothing wrong with it... its just too big for a Cobalt. Unless you're shooting for 700hp... you don't need something that big. Thing won't spool until 5k. A 5557 is plenty big. Enough for high 400's, low 500's if you push it hard enough. If you actually spend your money wisely and get the...

    BlackCobalt707's 06 LS/TC build thread

They weren't tight enough then. Haha. Wrench the hell out of those things. I've crushed pipes before because I tightened them too much. Tighten the things properly and you won't have any problems. The LSJ (Motor in the Supercharged cars) can handle over 400whp on the stock long block.

    Started my 2.2 forging

LSJ block and 2.2L block are virtually identical. Just a few tiny differences. The Sleeves are identical though. And yeah... its a good set-up... but it wasn't up to my standards... and my current is world's above it.

If your intercooler piping is popping off... then its user error. I only had a pipe blow off once in the year that set-up was on the car... and that pipe blew of in the first week of it being on the car. Make sure you are pushing the piping into the Coupler all the way... and that you're...
